Since the original Workbook for Aphasia, our products have been praised for their content, adaptability, functionality, ability to improve outcomes in a meaningful and fun way, and their applicability to a variety of clinician needs.

Therapy books

I’ve been using the teaching method described in Spaced Retrieval Step by Step* since 2016 and have gotten very good results with many patients. I’ve written a tutorial, tips for moderate to severe memory impairment, and a case study.

Memory & Communication Aids for People with Dementia* is a very helpful book with lots of examples and more than 30 downloadable resources.

I’ve been reading Optimizing Cognitive Rehabilitation: Effective Instructional Methods*, and I’m learning how to apply to my patients. This teaching method is good for people who have enough cognitive impairment that trial-by-error isn’t helpful but spaced retrieval with errorless learning isn’t necessary.

Therapy tools

I hand these smooth, six-inch balls* out to patients for CTAR (chin tuck against resistance) exercises. I’ve tried a couple of different styles of balls, and this is the one that patients prefer. The fun, bright colors are a bonus!

I hand out stylus pens* to my patients often. It’s such a simple tool that can make a huge difference in how well a person can use a smart phone or other device. This ten-piece set is quite inexpensive. Of course, any time you’re at a conference or fair, be sure to pick up all those freebies!
